Our family wanted to share an update on Brandon and ask for continued prayers and support. Many people have been asking how he is doing, and we are grateful for the care, messages, and prayers that have already been sent his way.

As many of you know, Brandon has been fighting a craniopharyngioma brain tumor and recently went through radiation treatments. Our family has been hopeful that the treatments would help him move forward and begin healing.

On Feb 26, we got a call regarding, Brandon. He was at a gas station when a police officer noticed he seemed confused and that something wasn’t right. She called 911 and he was taken to the ER. After doctors ran tests, they confirmed that Brandon had suffered a stroke, which the medical team believes was most likely related to side effects from the radiation treatments to his brain.

The stroke has affected the right side of his body. Right now, he is unable to move his right arm, has difficulty lifting his right leg, and his speech has also been affected. It has been very hard for our family to see him going through this.

Brandon has now been transferred to acute rehabilitation, where he will begin intensive therapy to help regain strength, mobility, and speech. This will be an important part of his recovery and will take time.

Doctors have also confirmed that Brandon will need another surgery to address the brain tumor once he completes rehab and is strong enough for the procedure. The tumor is located in a very delicate area and is currently pressing on his hypothalamus, pituitary gland, and optic nerve, and compressing some of the blood vessels around his carotid artery. Because of this, the medical team needs to be very careful about timing the next surgery.

Right now, the focus is on helping him recover from the stroke so he can safely move forward with that surgery.

At this point, Brandon will continue in rehab for an unknown amount of time as the medical team works to help him regain as much function as possible.

Brandon is a young father with three kids, and he has always worked hard to provide for his family. With everything happening right now, he is unable to work. We are currently waiting to see if he will be approved for Social Security Disability, but that process takes time and there are still many unknowns.

We truly hate having to ask for help, but right now Brandon and his family are facing a lot while they focus on his recovery and the road ahead.

Brandon is also a man of faith, and our family believes strongly in the power of prayer. We are asking everyone to please keep him and his family in your prayers during this time.

* Wisdom for the doctors caring for him

* Strength and peace for his wife and children
