Hello Friends and Family.  We would be touched and grateful if you would like to send a memorial contribution for a park bench in Ben's honor.  The six foot bench with a memorial plaque will be installed at Penn's Prairie.  Ben and his wife Julie enjoyed the peaceful and beautiful surroundings of this park in Centre Hall.  They particularly enjoyed the walking trail called Story Walk, where two pages of a delightful children's book are displayed on each panel.  As many of you know, Ben was a Park Naturalist at Little Buffalo State Park.  He loved the outdoors from a young age, and earned Eagle Scout.  Ben knew trees, birds, bird calls, wildlife, plants and native plants.  He started a native plant garden at Little Buffalo that he and Julie loved.  Penn's Prairie is planning to add butterfly gardens, and we know Ben would appreciate that.  When Ben's dementia progressed and he was no longer able to work as a Naturalist, taking walks became a very important and beneficial activity for Ben and Julie.  Julie's motto during those last several years of Ben's life was, "As many happy moments as we can" and Penn's Prairie was a blessing in the hard times.  I know that providing a bench for others to also enjoy happy moments there is a wonderful way to honor Ben.  Thank you so very much.
