Our Story: The Roshak’s
Hi, we’re Anna and Kodi Roshak. Anyone who knows us knows how deeply we love each other and how much joy we find in building a life together. Since the day we got married, we’ve talked about becoming parents and raising a family rooted in love, faith, and connection. What we never anticipated was how difficult it would be to grow that family.
Sharing this part of our story is incredibly vulnerable. Opening up about fertility struggles isn’t something that comes easily to either of us, and asking for help is even harder. But staying silent would mean carrying this burden alone — and this journey has taught us that community, prayer, and support matter more than ever.
Our Fertility Journey So Far
For well over 18 months, we have been trying to grow our family. Month after month, we have hoped, prayed, tracked cycles, followed medical plans, and done everything within our control — yet we haven’t had success in any form.
Part of our journey includes navigating PCOS and hypothyroidism, two conditions that can make it significantly harder to conceive. PCOS affects ovulation and hormone balance, while hypothyroidism can impact cycles, implantation, and overall reproductive health. Even with careful management, these diagnoses create challenges that many couples never have to think about.
Since beginning this journey, we have undergone multiple rounds of testing, bloodwork, imaging, and procedures, and we have completed several medicated cycles using fertility medications such as Clomid and Letrozole. Each step has brought new hope and new learning, but none have resulted in a pregnancy.
After everything, our doctors ultimately determined that we fall into a category called unexplained infertility. This means that, despite everything appearing normal on paper, we have not been able to achieve a pregnancy. There is no clear “why” — only the reality that something is not connecting the way it should.
Walking through repeated disappointment has been one of the hardest experiences of our marriage. Infertility is often described as second only to cancer in terms of emotional distress, and we’ve felt that truth deeply. It affects your body, your routines, your emotions, your faith, and your daily hope.
Still, through every setback, we’ve remained committed to each other and to the dream of becoming parents. We’ve continued medications, treatments, and planning with determination — holding on to faith even when the path has felt heavy and unclear.
Next Steps in Our Journey
After completing months of treatment, our fertility specialist shared that the most medically direct next steps toward achieving a pregnancy would be IUI (intrauterine insemination) or IVF (in vitro fertilization).
We are deeply grateful for the advancements in reproductive medicine and the hope these options can offer. We’ve seen firsthand how meaningful these treatments can be — Anna herself is an IUI baby, a reminder that miracles can happen through science, prayer, and perseverance.
After careful consideration, prayer, and thoughtful discussion, we have chosen to move forward with IUI at this time.
This decision was not made lightly. We took time to explore multiple paths, including holistic approaches aimed at addressing root causes such as hormone balance, inflammation, and overall wellness. While we continue to value and incorporate aspects of that approach, we feel a clear sense of direction in pursuing medical treatment in this season.
We are stepping into this process with intention — committed to supporting our bodies, staying grounded in our faith, and approaching each step with both wisdom and hope.
While IUI offers a meaningful opportunity, it also comes with emotional, physical, and financial challenges, and no guaranteed outcome. Even so, we feel at peace with this decision and are hopeful that this path will lead us closer to growing our family.
Why We Are Asking for Support
As we step into IUI, we are hoping to raise $10,000 to help cover the cost of multiple treatment cycles, medications, and ongoing care.
While we are incredibly grateful to have some insurance coverage, fertility treatment remains very expensive. Medications, procedures, and monitoring still come with significant out-of-pocket costs, and our coverage is limited — meaning it will eventually run out, leaving us responsible for the full cost of care.
This GiveSendGo Campaign is our way of inviting those who love us to walk alongside us in a journey that has, at times, felt incredibly heavy and isolating.
Creating this page was not easy. It is deeply humbling to ask for support in such a personal area of our lives. But we believe God works through community — placing people in our lives to lift us up, pray over us, and help carry the burden when it feels too heavy to hold alone.
We are so grateful for anyone who feels led to support us — whether through prayer, encouragement, or financial giving. Your support truly means more to us than we can fully express.
A Final Word From Us
If you’ve made it this far, thank you — truly. Your willingness to read our story means more than you know.
We believe deeply that God places the right people in our lives at the right time, and that He uses community to carry us when the path feels heavy. Whether you support us through prayer, kind words, or a financial gift, please know that every single gesture strengthens our hope.
We cannot wait for the day we get to share good news — and to tell our future baby just how many people helped bring them into the world.
With all our love and gratitude,
Anna & Kodi 🤎
Note: Every dollar donated will go directly toward our fertility program. If we experience financial surplus or if circumstances change, we will either apply remaining funds toward future fertility care or return donations upon request.
