Late at night on April 23, 2025, eight year old Anastasia was taken to the ER after complaining of stomach pain, nausea, and pain in her legs and hips. The ER discovered a mass in her abdomen, and transferred her early the next morning to Women and Children at Huntsville Hospital. It was there her parents got the news no parent should have to hear, "your daughter has cancer." She was transferred the next day to St. Jude in Memphis where she is currently undergoing a battery of tests and biopsies to exactly diagnose which kind of cancer she has and how to best treat it. She is very tough and brave, but is in a lot of discomfort, not only from the tumor and the necessary hospital procedures, but she also is not currently able to eat until they can decrease the size of the tumor in one way or another. The family is so grateful for the free medical care offered by St. Jude, but as every family who has been through anything like this will tell you, there are many ancillary expenses that will accrue over the coming months. Donations can also be made through Emmanuel Baptist Church in Florence, AL. 100% of donations will go to the family to pay for their expenses as they traverse this difficult road.
We love you all and are fiercely praying!
