On December 14, 2020, the sixteen Republican Michigan Electors assembled at the Capital Building in Lansing to fulfill their civic duty as Presidential Electors and cast an alternate slate for President Donald Trump. This was a contingency plan in the event the Electoral College votes were awarded to Trump, so that the Republican slate of Electors would be in place. This was in no way an effort to commit fraud or conspire to defraud voters of Michigan. On December 14, 2020, it was still unclear whether or not the legal challenges brought forward would alter the election results.
This was not the first time an alternate slate was cast in a Presidential Election, as alternate slates have been utilized going back to 1876 and as recently as 2000.
The 16 Electors range in age from 55 to over 80 years old. They simply became involved because they love our country - like you and me. Amy, a retired public school teacher, spent 2020 tirelessly working for Trump Victory, recruiting, organizing and activating hundreds of volunteers. Many of those volunteers are still active and participating in the Party.
In August 2020, Amy was elected by Precinct Delegates at the District Caucus. Never did she or the other Electors imagine the nightmare that would envelope their lives from exercising their role as Electors! Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel has now filed 8 felony charges against each Elector carrying up to 71 years in prison and $32,000 in fines:
- Two counts of Forgery, a 14-year felony
- One count of Conspiracy to Commit Uttering and Publishing, a 14-year felony
- One count of Uttering and Publishing, a 14-year felony
- One count of Conspiracy to Commit Election Law Forgery, a 5-year felony
- Two counts of Election Law Forgery, a 5-year felony.
These charges are in addition to a civil lawsuit brought against the Republican Electors by the Democrat Electors who sued for "emotional distress" over the Alternate Slate being submitted. At the end of the day, this is political persecution and the weaponization of the Office of Attorney General. Please help Amy with her legal defense. Amy will need an attorney not only to defend her on these felony charges but also as she will need to defend herself as an attempt to recall her from the Grand Blanc School Board has mounted because of these charges from MI AG Dana Nessel.
Updates will be posted as they become available.
