Restore Childhood, a 501c3 non-profit organization, was founded by two moms - Natalya and Dana - who, from November 2020 onward, advocated to reopen schools and restore normalcy for children. Over the past couple of years, we have collaborated with so many parents, doctors and advocates across the country. For our docuseries we are working with filmmaker Stephanie Edmonds, who was the founder of Teachers4OpenSchools. Together, we have interviewed public health experts, mental healthcare workers, education policy experts, lawyers, journalists, parents, coaches, student athletes and, of course, children.

Since April 2022, we have been filming around the country, including NYC, Long Island, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington D.C., Austin, California and Virginia.

"15 Days..." Our eight-part docuseries focuses on the impact of America's school closures on children. Some of the themes we cover are the role of the media, role of doctors/public health, how children’s health and schooling became politicized, the role of the teachers unions, kids’ declining mental health, awakening of American parents and how “cancel culture” and the silencing of dissent has contributed to this crisis.

From closed schools to remote learning and zooming in rooms, to locked playgrounds, masked toddlers to silent school lunches, the way children have been treated in large swathes of the U.S. must be memorialized.

We are compelled to document their stories to remember what was done and ensure it never happens again.
