Join GiveSendGo’s #PrayAllMay Challenge!
By: Alex Shipley on | Comments: 0Every year, on the first Thursday of May, millions of believers across the U.S. unite in prayer for our nation, our leaders, our communities, and our families.
It’s called the National Day of Prayer, but here’s the truth:
What happens on Friday?
Do we pray just as fervently and intentionally then?
Most of us would probably say no.
But what if this day sparked something daily in our hearts?
What if prayer became a habit—not just a once-a-year moment?
At GiveSendGo, we’ve seen the power of prayer firsthand. While many come to GiveSendGo seeking financial help, they often tell us that the most meaningful and comforting thing they received was prayer—whether it was a call from our Hope Team, a message left on their campaign page, or both!
There’s something powerful about knowing someone is lifting you up before God—even if they’ve never met you. Wouldn’t you feel the same?
So this May, we’re inviting you to be that person.
Join us for #PrayAllMay, our month-long May prayer challenge.
Because prayer changes things.
And God is eager to hear from you.
“Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.”
— Jeremiah 33:3
“And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.”
— 1 John 5:14-15
The #PrayAllMay Challenge
For the next 4 weeks, pick one prayer focus per week—and go deep.
Of course, you’ll still pray for other things. But this gives you a simple roadmap to stay motivated and intentional with one area each week.
Here’s your weekly prayer guide:
Week 1: Our Nation
Let’s lift up our country to the One who holds the world in His hands.
Here are a few things you can pray for:
Righteousness and truth to prevail in policies, laws, and decisions that impact our daily lives. “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.” — Psalm 33:12
Week 2: The Hurting
We all know someone who’s walking through something heavy. This week, we intentionally lift up those in pain.
Here are a few things you can pray for:
Tip: Scroll through campaigns on GiveSendGo and choose one person or family to pray for each day. You can even leave a prayer or note of encouragement by clicking the “Pray Now” button on their campaign page!
“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18
Week 3: The Church
The Church isn’t a building—it’s the people of God. This week, we pray for His Bride to rise up in truth, love, and boldness.
Here are a few things you can pray for:
“…that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word…” — Ephesians 5:26
Week 4: Your Circle
This one is close to home. Who has God placed in your life right now? Your prayers matter in their lives more than you know.
Here are a few things you can pray for:
Write down their names. Ask God what He wants to say to them—and how He might use you to share it.
“The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.” — James 5:16
Why It Matters
God wants us to come boldly before Him in prayer. Think about how we treat our closest friends—we spend time with them, call or text them, hang out, and stay connected. If we didn’t, we wouldn’t be great friends. That’s how our relationship with God should be.
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
— 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 (ESV)
Prayer doesn’t have to be complicated. It’s not about having the perfect words—it’s about showing up every day with faith and expectation.

Week 1: Our Nation
Let’s lift up our country to the One who holds the world in His hands.
Here are a few things you can pray for:
- Wisdom and integrity for national, state, and local leaders. That they would lead with justice, humility, and truth.
- Peace in our land—both within our communities and between nations.
- Revival—that people across the nation would encounter the love of Jesus and turn their hearts back to God.
- Unity across divides—racial, political, socioeconomic—that the Church would lead the way in showing what true reconciliation looks like.
- Protection and courage for those in the military, law enforcement, and first responders.
Righteousness and truth to prevail in policies, laws, and decisions that impact our daily lives. “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.” — Psalm 33:12

Week 3: The Church
The Church isn’t a building—it’s the people of God. This week, we pray for His Bride to rise up in truth, love, and boldness.
Here are a few things you can pray for:
- Unity among believers. That we’d focus on what unites us—Jesus—rather than what divides us.
- Boldness to share the Gospel and stand for truth in love, even in a culture that’s growing increasingly hostile to faith.
- Strength for pastors, missionaries, and ministry leaders who are weary or under attack.
- Revival in churches—that dry bones would come alive and lukewarm hearts would be set on fire for Christ.
- A deeper hunger for God’s Word and obedience to live it out daily.
- Protection from compromise, gossip, division, and false teaching.
“…that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word…” — Ephesians 5:26
Week 4: Your Circle
This one is close to home. Who has God placed in your life right now? Your prayers matter in their lives more than you know.
Here are a few things you can pray for:
- Salvation—that family members, friends, neighbors, or coworkers would come to know Jesus personally.
- Wisdom and discernment in decision-making—for yourself and those you love.
- Reconciliation in relationships where there’s been hurt, distance, or brokenness.
- Peace in homes—that God would calm chaos, ease anxiety, and bring unity.
- Obedience to God’s voice. That you (and others) would follow Him closely and trust Him completely.
- Clarity in calling and purpose. That your friends and family would walk in confidence and faith.
Write down their names. Ask God what He wants to say to them—and how He might use you to share it.

Want to Go Deeper?
Here are a few ways to personalize your challenge:
- Start a prayer journal to track each week’s focus and how God answers your prayers.(So often, we miss how God is working simply because we’re not expecting it—or not looking for it. When we remember what He’s done, it gives us faith to believe He’s still at work today.)
- Choose a new GiveSendGo campaign each week to pray over—and leave an encouraging prayer or note by clicking “Pray Now.”
- Invite a friend or family member to join you in the challenge and share updates.
- Set a daily prayer alarm to pause and remember the week’s focus.
