My Mom has been dependent on a wheelchair for well over 40 years. She is an amputee due to bone cancer. She has never had a new wheelchair, as she's always been able to make do with used ones. As she is aging and has been dealing with other health issues, a new wheelchair that is customized for her is necessary. However, the copay is unaffordable for her. My dad is 80 and my Mom will be 80 in November. They are still working and trying to make ends meet.
