It was my intention for my 70th birthday, now in the past, to launch a small fund to support Venezuelan families both inside and outside that still most troubled nation. But I am clearly getting old and slow, however better late than never! If you can support the appeal I am now making, muchísimas gracias!  

We have been supporting various families for many years, especially the one in this photo, the Colmenares, living in Colombia, who were just given 21 days notice to leave their apartment and need about $700 to pay first and last for somewhere new. Exploitation of diaspora Venezuelans is very common and the husband is now working for less than minimum wage and has been let go with wages owing many times. His wife sells food items they prepare from a small cart I bought for them, but is struggling with her health. Another family needs a little help as they try to resettle in Venezuela, the parents not having been able to establish themselves successfully elsewhere. You get the picture.
