I am raising money to help cover expenses due to the death of my Husband, Ed Sweet, who succumbed to Esophageal and Bone cancer on Monday, June 23, 2026.

Ed was self-employed and was respected by our community in his job as a Computer Repair Technician. Because of his diagnosis and medical treatments, he could no longer work or drive. This has made our finances tight especially in this economy. Because he was a small business, he didn’t have life insurance or burial insurance.

This was the first time Ed had faced a battle such as this. Chemotherapy sessions had become part of a weekly routine, and the tumor in his esophagus left him unable to eat properly. The lesions on his spine and hips left him in excruciating pain and walking was a challenge for him. In March/April/May 2026 he was hospitalized with Pneumonia Kidney issues and several episodes of Sepsis. Through it all, he remained positive – always reassuring everyone that he was going to beat the odds and “ring the bell”. He fought this fight to the end, which doesn’t surprise me at all. He always was a fighter with a blessed spirit.

But like many fighters in such situations, Ed found himself struggling with more than just his health. The financial toll of ongoing copays, medical treatments, therapies and bills has been never ending; from hospital expenses to endless medications for both of us—expenses piled up on his already burdened shoulders. A burden he didn’t need to bear and I can’t bear it alone. Our family has been there by his side every step of the way, but even they are not immune to its effects.

Ed’s strength didn’t just end at fighting cancer – he was also a fighter against financial hardships brought upon by this relentless disease. This sweet man never stopped giving and caring for others but now his own family needs help. That’s where your help is needed…
