"My name will be great among the nations, from the rising to the setting of the sun. In every place incense and pure offerings will be brought to My name, because My name will be great among the nations," says the Lord Almighty (Malachi 1:11 NIV).
My name is Taylor Peevy. I want to share a brief story about how God spoke to me in a tangible way.
I have been a worshipper for over a decade. By that, I mean that the Lord has stirred me up and equipped me with a passionate desire, as well as practical and spiritual abilities to worship Him. I have felt for a very long time that, in some way, God was calling me to minister to Him and others through music. For the past three years, I have worked as a finish carpenter at a great company near where I lived in Greenville, SC and really enjoyed that scope of work. Prior to that, I have been working as a carpenter in different ways (cabinetry, framing, etc.). As much as I loved woodworking and that specific job of three years, I was feeling a pull to ministry for the last year of my time there. I was talking to a good friend of mine, Andre Griner, about this tension of feeling the call to give myself to ministry, but having a pretty great, well-paid job that I would have to leave. So we would "soak" on Sunday nights. We would just put on some prophetic worship music, lie down on the floor, and listen to the Lord, sometimes for hours. It was in one of these moments when the Lord gave me a vision. It was like an aerial view looking down at an empty parking lot at night, there were palm trees everywhere, and I saw a big sign that said "CHEAP" on it. After several minutes, we were sharing what we heard/saw. I told him about the vision and he said "it sounds like an airport scene, like maybe God will call you to fly somewhere and it will be cheap." I held onto that word and vision for several months. Months later, I was on the phone with my dad, talking about my job and how good it was, and made the comment that the only way I would leave my job was to work in ministry. Two weeks later, on a Friday, I was fired from my job. The following day, I recieved a text from a guy that I had only met once before saying that he was in Greenville for the weekend and we made plans to meet up the following day. When we met up, he invited me to the ministry in Stone Mountain, GA that he worked at and told me about YWAM (Youth With A Mission) school for worship in Kona, HI (palm trees). I came to check out the ministry here in Georgia, it felt like a great fit, and I currently work at the ministry called Renew World Outreach (look them up!) and live here on the property for free (cheap). The Lord has guided me and blessed me as I have agreed with and said "yes" to the vision He gave me earlier this year.
I have applied and been accepted to attend the YWAM Discipleship Training School (DTS) starting January 2019 in Kona, Hawaii. The school is called Fire and Fragrance and is broken down as follows:
January 3, 2019 - March 27, 2019 is called the lecture phase and will take place at the YWAM base in Kona. It will be an equipping time of hearing from the Lord through corporate times of worship, sitting under teaching from leaders of international ministries, consecrating myself to the Lord through prayer, worship, and fasting, and so much more!
March 28, 2019 - June 20, 2019 is called the outreach phase and will take place in a country that will be made known to me while in Kona. It will be a time to minister to those around me, to edify the local believers through prayer and prophecy, to continue hearing from the Lord, and to see salvations, miracles, signs, and wonders!
After the outreach phase, all of the students from the different YWAM schools will meet up in Lima, Peru where we will partner with believers involved in a prayer and worship movement called One Nation, One Day. We will be ministering to the Peruvian people and praying for revival of the whole nation. After our time of ministry in Peru, the departure date is set for July 7, 2019.
I am excited and expectant to see a vision fulfilled, sinners become saints, believers become empowered, diseases healed in Jesus' name, and the Spirit of God move in ways that only He can. I'm asking for prayer for all of these things.
This is a great opportunity for ministry. I will need $10,000 USD to cover all expenses from January 3 - July 7. This does not include the cost of plane tickets to Kona (Jan. 3) or from Lima (July 7). I am setting an initial goal for $5,000 USD, then once it is achieved, I will set the new financial goal to $10,000 USD. GiveSendGo is an incredible resource for missionaries, families, and ministries around the world. Therefore, when I was given the option to donate a percentage of the raised money to help fund this free resource to keep operating, I chose to give 3% of every donation. If you feel led to give to my opportunity through YWAM, I want to thank you. I can't do this on my own, but I can and am trusting the Lord to provide the financial needs for this season. I'm learning the truth that our Father is a generous God and the most generous person. We are His sons and daughters, therefore generosity is in our DNA. It is a joy to enter into seasons with hands open, ready to give to the Lord or receive from the Lord anything that He has for us.
I will soon be creating an account on Instagram to provide updates and encouraging words surrounding the process of raising money, praying for this season of ministry, stories of God's goodness, and any other updates that seem appropriate. I will make that account known on this campaign when it is created.
Pray! Give! Pray! Share! Pray! Celebrate! Pray!
Thank you for sharing in all of these things with me!
For the glory of God!
