On June 23, Ron went to Urgent Care because of some pain he was experiencing including having a hard time breathing for three days. While he was there, he was tested positive for COVID and was brought to the hospital for further testing and monitoring. His oxygen levels had tested very low and they decided to keep him. His condition declined and he was placed in the ICU on a ventilator.
On July 7, we received the call around 5:00pm to inform us that Ron experienced a sudden drop in blood pressure and his heart stopped. They tried blood pressure medication and they administered chest compressions. However, they were unable to recussitate him after 25 minutes and he passed.
Karen and Ron live by themselves, Ron being the sole provider of the household with supplemental SS income. We are raising funds for Karen so that she does not have to think about money during this difficult and transitional time.
We want to thank everyone who prayed and who has given and for any that would consider giving again.
Please continue to pray for the family in this time.
UPDATES

Well it's been 15 months since Ron passed. Karen is living with some friends still at this time and is saving for a home where she can settle down again into this new season of life. With the housing market going crazy right after Ron passed, buying a house became very complicated and out of reach. Karen has continued to trust God in this season and He has provided for her. Keep her in your prayers and any support will go directly to saving for a home. God bless you all for continuing to pray for Karen and the family.

Two memorial services were held for Ron (one in his latest home, Arizona; and one in his previous home in Vermont). They were both beautiful and friends and family shared memories of Ron and the hope we have of seeing him again in eternity! As the family continues to grieve and process this difficult loss, Karen has transitioned out of her apartment where Ron and her were living. They were in the process of buying a house and were closing the week of Ron's passing. That has since been canceled and Karen is praying and looking for a place for herself. She is currently living with a dear friend who has graciously opened her home to Karen while she processes and asks God for wisdom in this transition. Please continue to pray about supporting Karen through this transition while she settles into the newness of this life without Ron. There is a lot to figure out, and supporting her financially is greatly appreciated.
God bless you all and hope this update finds you well.

We just spoke with Ron's nurse. He is still using 100% ventilator, but he has been switched to a more gentle continuous dialysis. They stopped giving him pressers for his blood pressure which is good. They continue to rotate his body to get oxygen around his lungs. This is a good report praise God. Continue to pray the work of God will be completed this week! Amen.

Ron is currently still on a ventilator and dialysis. They were able to drop the ventilator setting to 90% (he was using it at max capacity of 100%), and his body is responding well to dialysis. We are praying that this will NOT be a long road to recovery, but that it will be quick and miraculous. Thank you all for your support and prayer.

Ron continues to be monitored on a ventilator. His kidneys were working too hard and they put him on a temporary dialysis to give them a rest. Continuing to contend in much prayer and in great faith that the prayers will not go unanswered.
