Support for Jacob and his family

Campaign Created by: Sarah Brubaker Krupala

The funds from this campaign will be received by Jacob Brubaker.

Raised : USD $ 7,150

My brother Jacob, his wife Julia, and their two boys, Jay (7yo) and Carter (20 months) left Kyiv Ukraine on Thursday Feb, 24th at 7:15 after the bombs stopped falling. Over the next three days they drove across the country in a borrowed 1991 Civic. They reached the city of Lviv, left the car, and boarded a bus for the second leg of the journey to the border. 34 hours later they safely crossed the border.

We are trying to raise money to get them back to Texas, life, and living expenses for the unforeseeable future. They were only able to bring two suitcases for a family of 4. Any contribution will be much appreciated.

My family and I are now safe on the family farm. We would like to thank everyone for the support. It will help out a lot.

Message from Jacob: Thank everyone so so much for the help. It means the world to us. It will help us get back to the States for who knows how long. Update: We are in Krakow, Poland at the moment. My wife, Julia needs a new visa. She has a 10-year visa but it is in her expired passport. When we travel, the US embassy recommends that we take both passports and that\'s what we do. However, in the rush to leave Kyiv, we didn\'t even think about that situation and forgot her expired passport.

So, we\'ve gone through the steps to get an emergency interview for a new passport. It was approved today (March 3rd) for March 9th. We need to stay in Krakow until the interview and we receive the visa. (I was told a couple of days after the interview. But who knows with the overload) We will then travel back to Texas.
