I am going to Myanmar (formally Burma) with Pastor Will Faires and a team through Equipping Leaders International.
Our goal is to train local, indigenous pastors and church planters.
In Myanmar, the broader Christian church is approximately 14%. Some say only 5% consists of true, Bible- believing Christians.
We will be serving in Yangon (Rangoon), the cultural capital of Myanmar. We will be teaching there at the ELI training institute. The church is going through a time to renewed zeal for the truth of the Gospel, and has a real hunger for God’s Word. We are encouraged to hear that the projected number of attendees since last year as grown. Our hope is that God will use our labors to expand the Gospel throughout Myanmar.
First, please pray for the church in Myanmar. We have received news that many pastors in the Wa region have been arrested for their faith. Myanmar is 80% Buddhist, and the persecution these pastors experience is sanction by the government. Our goal is to train men in the Yangon (Rangoon) and send them out to these difficult mission fields.
Second, please pray for our work in Myanmar. We will be teaching men that have never heard verse-by-verse teaching through a book of the Bible. We will be teaching verse-by-verse through the book of Ephesians.
Finally, if you would like to financially support our labor in Myanmar:
1. You can give through this website, non-tax deductible.
2. You can give tax deductible through ELI's website - https://equippingleadersinternational.org . Choose GIVE, select "Will and Martha Faires" and write Steve McCullough/Myanmar in memo.
3. You can give with a check, also tax deductible, direct to Grace Church at 2007 Stallings Road, Harrisburg, NC 28075 with Steve McCullough/Myanmar in the memo.
Any funding received will go to travel, lodging, and resources for the local pastors and church planters.
Thank you for your prayers and contributions.
