Tears welled up in my eyes as I looked at the faces of eager young minds, their bright eyes filled with curiosity and wonder. It was a moment that reminded me why I do what I do—teaching STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) to students who otherwise wouldn't have access to such education.

But it hasn't always been easy. The journey of setting up SMOG EDUTECH in Sagamu, Nigeria, has had its fair share of challenges and hurdles. Despite the difficulties—and trust me, there were plenty—seeing those young faces light up when they finally grasped a concept or completed a coding task made it all worthwhile.

Yet here we are, with students on our waiting list who can't start their journey because we simply don’t have enough equipment to go around. The final piece of the puzzle is just out of reach—literally and figuratively. We need 500 dollars ($550) to purchase an additional five robotics kits that will enable us to fully engage these eager students who are desperate for something different from what they currently receive in school.
