Hello friends, Denise here from Sky-Vue Skateland in Rocky Mount NC. I have the pleasure of entertaining families, tweens, and teens at my skating rink every weekend. My parents built the rink in 1958. I came back in 1983 to help with the operations because they were getting older. It has been a fun and rewarding experience to have families returning generation after generation to skate with us.
We suspended our skating sessions beginning February 2022 because our skating surface needed repair. Upon examining the support system we found an issue with moisture in the crawl space. Therefore we have 2 issues that need to be resolved before we can reopen for skating.
We have a contractor and a plan. But the hurdle is the cost of $150,000.00. We have taken your suggestions to do a fundraiser.
That amount seems out of reach but we believe it will be possible from your generous donations. Many of you have told us how much you appreciate our rink because we provide a safe place for the youth to gather with their friends. Our rink reflects the need of every community to have safe places of entertainment for youth. We are asking you to please contribute what you can so that we can get Sky-Vue Skateland open and skating again. Every donation of any amount will count and help us reach our goal. Would you also share this need with three friends, businesses, organizations, or your church?
We are eager to see this God-size project come to life. Our contractor is a former skater who is excited to repair the floor and get children and families skating again. We thank you for trusting us to provide wholesome family entertainment. We want to pass our love of skating to the next generation and help them create memories that last a lifetime.
Please check our website, www.skyvueskateland.com for details of thank you gifts. Be sure to monitor our progress on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
Once the work is complete we look forward to hosting a grand reopening! You’re all invited! Thank you so much for your support.
