Katrina and Nikki have an incredible opportunity to travel to a conference in Washington, DC the week of April 20th. The Disability and the Church conference will not only equip Nikki in the area of disability support in the church, but it will also equip Katrina in the area of mental health support in the church. In faith we have already purchased plane tickets and made lodging reservations, and some folks from our church have already donated about half of what we need, but we are hoping to cover the rest of the trip and we are inviting you to partner with us!

Why Nikki Wants to Attend the Conference:

I have the incredible opportunity to not only attend the conference, but also to speak at it as well! I will be giving a “TedTalk” type speech during the breakaway sessions about how the "church pew" is not always accessible. My hope is to gather more resources and information and come back to Central Vermont and start equipping all the local churches with how to support the disabled (visible and invisible) in their church. I’m passionate about neurodivergence (Autism, ADHD, etc), as I am Autistic and have an Autistic family, and I hope to share more of my story to help the church gain a better understanding of why disability support is so important. I hope to be a support person not only in my own church, but for other churches as well!

Why Katrina Wants to Attend the Conference:

As some of you know, due to a string of trauma in my life, I developed OCD and anxiety which turned my world upside down. 

But God….He causes everything to work together for the good of those who love him and are called according to his purpose. He has shown me that, once I am on the other side of this, I am to start a ministry for others suffering with mental health.

I have been extremely fortunate to have support in my healing journey. I want others to have the same support and help. I want people to know:

• They are not alone!

• God sees them and He loves them!

• It is okay to get help! Just like God gave us doctors and medications for our bodies, he also gave us doctors and medications for our minds!

I have acquired knowledge and skills throughout my journey to share with others, but there is so much more for me to learn!

Going to the Disability/Mental Health and the Church conference is an amazing opportunity and would equip me even more. For God doesn’t call the equipped, He equips the called!
