I was hit by a drunk driver at the start of this year, and since then, my world has been turned upside down. The physical injuries – shattered sternum, brain damage, severe PTSD – they were bad enough. But it was the relentless pain that came next, day after day, night after night, that truly took its toll on me.

I can’t work; not because I want to but because of a muscle spasm condition called Acute Torticollis, which is so painful that just lifting my head up feels like an insurmountable task most days. The constant struggle for basic hygiene and gas has been exhausting. And the truth is, there are times when the pain gets too much; thoughts I never thought possible creep into my mind.

But here’s the thing – even in this dark place where hope seems a distant memory, I cling to it because of you all. I know deep down that there are good people out there who want to help others they don’t even know when they see them struggling on social media.
