My sweet girl Raven, a 13 year old American Staffordshire Terrier, is fighting for her life today. Our hearts are already broken from losing our beloved 16 year old Tuxedo cat Fluffy just last week, and now Raven is at Lyndon Animal Clinic in Louisville with fluid in her belly, possible pancreatitis, low iron, and her kidneys are struggling. The whole family is still grieving Fluffy and now we may lose Raven too. She came to bed with me last night just to be close to her Momma and this morning she still went outside on her own and drank water so she is still fighting and so am I. The vet said to put her down but I do not know why she is building the fluid and what the fluid is so I refused to do that without tests and knowing exactly what is going on. Look at her eyes, she is perfectly alert and not showing signs on pain.

I am not one to ask for help but the vet bill is already at $800 and climbing on top of what I just paid for Fluffy. An ultrasound will $650 and possible overnight emergency care is thousands more if needed. I cannot let finances make this decision for me when my girl still has fight left in her!!

Raven has been my loyal companion for 13 years. She chases lizards in the sunshine on our back porch, she steals my recliner, and she loves her Momma fiercely. When Fauna came into our lives as a tiny 8 week old foster baby, Raven adopted the puppy as her own daughter and Fauna is now 2 and has never known life without her Momma Raven. Their best friend Purrseidon the cat misses Fluffy and is lost without Raven too, Purrseidon sleeps on Raven every single night in bed!!
