If you do not already know who I am, I am Regan Hormann. Stories are best told from the beginning so here we go:
At several points in my life I have felt the call to enter into missions but have supressed that feeling. If you have followed my story, you would know that I was able to spend some time in Mexico this last summer and once again felt that nudge from God. Upon returning home, my mom asked me if anything had changed in my heart about what I would be studying in college because of that trip and my answer was quickly "no".
Because of God opening my eyes of the importance of being connected in a church, as soon as I started my first semester at Liberty University I began searching and ended up visiting (then Brentwood), now Way-Maker Church. I really had a strogn conviction to not just be a member but be involved and for me, that started with getting into a small college connect group. There was a 'fair' for all college students to attend to meet the various leaders but I did not end up going... However, I did end up randomly picking a group led by Josh and Maria Rolf who up entil 6 onths earlier had been living in Texas. After our first Thrusday night meeting, that 'random' happenstance turned into evidently being God's hand once again issuing a big push towards missions. Josh and Maria are really passionate about missions and reaching all people as they have given up their entire lives to searching God and furthering His Kingdom. Josh opened up our group by walking up through Genesis to Reveltation showing us that the Bible is not meant to be read as individual stories but as God's redemptive plan for all humanity using broken individuals. They specifically drew out Gods desire to be known among the nations which is a very apparent theme all throughout scripture. They ended that evening stating that "there are tribes, tongued, and nations of people who do not know the name of Jesus Christ" and asked the question, "what are you doing to change that?". In Revelation 7:9 is the verse- "After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands." After leaving that group, I felt that call once more but this time it was wasn't a nudge- more like a slap in the face.
Within the next couple of weeks, I had communicated with Josh and Maria what the Lord had been doing in my heart because of this call and through prayer and council had begun the process of switching my degree. Little did I know that a girl in my group (April) had communicated about the same thing. Josh then proposed a trip for both of us to go on together.... so here we are in the present.
This summer, from May 26th to July 23rd, April will be in south Asia with the IMB obeying God's call for us to be reaching an area of the world where the Gospel is not known or taught. Think about what that Gospel has done for your life. People do not have that or even have knowledge of that redeeming love story. We will be sharing the Gospel along with coming alongside and growing in community with hopefully an erruption of believers that come out of our trip. After that, an emphasis by on ground missionairies will be put towards forming a church in various communities.
I ask that you please consider and pray about coming alongside me in supporting God's redeeming plan for all mankind. As Revelation states, there will be people of all tribes, tongues, and nations praising God in Heaven and I want to be apart of God's plan for opening their eyes to Him.
Thank you so much!!!!
