🌟 It’s not every day that life throws curveballs, but when it does, sometimes we need a little extra help to catch them. That’s where I find myself today—caught in the midst of one of those unexpected storms and reaching out for support from my community.💔

It was December 2, 2025, that life as I knew it shifted dramatically. After years of hard work at Spirit Airlines , I had to take unpaid leave under FMLA—a safety net many of us hope we’ll never need but are grateful exists when times get tough. The funds from my PTO which wasn’t much helped me manage my rent, providing some stability during an uncertain period. But there was one crucial area where the support fell short: utilities.

I didn't fully grasp the consequences of falling behind on utilities until it became a harsh reality. By April 6th, I found myself in eviction court—a place no one wants to be. The judge gave me a chance with two payments scheduled for the 16th and 30th of this month totaling $3,383.48 It was crunch time, literally deciding whether my home would become someone else’s or if I could stay there.

The fear of homelessness has been palpable these past weeks—a constant looming shadow over our household. The thought of losing our sanctuary after years of building it up with love and memories is heart-wrenching. It's not just about four walls; it's about the safety, comfort, and security that a home provides, especially during tough times like these.

This isn’t just my struggle—it’s something many are facing right now across our country. Whether due to unforeseen medical expenses, job loss, or other emergencies, we all know someone who has felt this financial strain. It’s scary and unfair when you're one missed payment away from losing your home.
