I don’t know where to begin so I’ll start at the beginning. On March 9th I was taken out of work and placed on mental health leave. I’m employed with a school district, I meditate fights, break up fights, conduct home visits. I’m on the attendance team all for my high school students grades 9-12.

I paid out of pocket for AFLAC short term disability. It’s a supplemental insurance that my employer doesn’t pay, however payments are payroll deducted. I submitted my claim on March 11th. Every week I was asked to submit another form, another release. My provider completed all necessary paperwork and after waiting since March 11th AFLAC denied my claim, because according to them mental health, ptsd, anxiety and depression are not deemed illnesses that warrant short term disability.

I was to receive a lump sum payment of $6000 from them. Needless to say I’m stuck, scared and don’t know what to do. I’m so behind on bills. I truly am in need of help and serious prayers. The more I try the harder things seem to get. I’m sincerely asking for help and prayers.
