This June, Arianna and I have the opportunity to travel to Lima, Peru with our church, Lake City Church, to serve with an incredible ministry called Lost Children of Peru. This will be both of our first mission trip, and we’re really grateful for the chance to step outside of our normal routines and serve together in this way.

For one week we’ll be working alongside their team in the hillside districts of Comas and Carabayllo, two of the poorest areas in Lima. Their mission is simple and powerful...to love as many children as possible while making Jesus known. Their vision is to be a “House of Light” (Casa de Luz) for the children, teens, and families who live in these communities. To create a place where people are seen, cared for, and reminded that they matter deeply to God.

While we’re there we’ll be serving the local community, spending time with kids and families, and supporting the work the ministry is already doing on the ground. We’re excited, humbled, and honestly a little nervous stepping into something new, but we believe God uses ordinary people who are simply willing to show up and love others well.
