Rita and Danielle Pell are part of a family that I have had the pleasure of working with for the last 5 years. Rita’s husband Kelvin is undergoing treatment for stage 4 cancer. Rita has had to take a break from her job to help take care of Kelvin and be at the hospital with him. Danielle has been working full time trying to support herself, her two children, and her parents. This family all lives together in their home in Chattanooga, TN when not in the hospital with Kelvin. Rita has learned that if they do not pay their property taxes in the amount of $3,810 by April 28th then they will lose their home. I cannot imagine the burden of trying to support your husband through cancer treatment and also learning you will lose your home if you cannot pay property taxes.
