Mrs Shard (Née Brunt) the legendary technology teacher and awesome head of year, after serving our school and community with all of her love, passion and skill, is taking on a new challenge at a school closer to her home.

We, her colleagues, wish to honour her with a lovely parting gift, but we also wanted the parents of this amazing community to have the opportunity to contribute.

I know that she won't mind me saying this - she is committed to being able to spend more time with her infant son, Ethan, and to be there more for her devoted husband, Eden - they may also one day soon be blessed with another mini-Shard, something that we all also wish greatly for her.

Our nation cherishes its teachers, they make many sacrifices to be able to make a difference to those they serve, and it would be a wonderful way to honour Mrs Shard by showing her how much we appreciate her.

As a thank you for being such an amazing wife and mummy, her husband is treating her to a summer holiday to Greece, and we would love to be able to give her some funds to buy some Euros to make that holiday so memorable for them.

So please do join us in helping to reach and even surpass the target, so that when we bid her farewell, we'll know that we have helped in some small way to make her summer even more special.
