Dear friends and family,
As some of you know, we were planning on moving to the States soon after our wedding that took place in August, but Bojana's request for an expedited visa was denied and we're staying in Macedonia while waiting on the regular time it takes to obtain it, which is approximately one year. However, we weren't devastated about this change of plans, granted it has taken us some adjustments but we realize that it was God who opened this door, so we're very excited to serve alongside the rest of our CRU team (former name" Campus Crusade for Christ, local name: Sekoj Student) by bringing the Gospel to college students all over Macedonia.
The adjustments include raising up a missions team of people like yourselves that can help in both of two ways: prayerfully and financially. We recognize that we can't save people in our own strength, so your prayers are crucial! As far as our financial need goes, we only need about $500/month to be able to live and serve among the students here; that's $6000 for the whole year! Would you prayerfully consider joining our mission's team by giving a $50, $100, $500 or any other amount that God puts on your heart? We would love to keep you updated on how God is answering your prayers and pray for you as well, so when you give, please also include your email address.
The nation of Macedonia contains approximately two hundred Christian young believers. The main religion is Orthodoxy, Islam being the second biggest one. In this country, anything aside from Orthodoxy is viewed as a sect, reading the Bible is a foreign concept and being a part of a local biblical church brings upon familial and social persecution. Meanwhile, the country has been economically instable for a while now, with 1/3 of the population being unemployed. The students are under a lot of pressure to succeed and people are desperate for hope and open to hear Good News!
Why students? Today's students are tomorrow's leaders! They are active and full of energy and enthusiasm. If they believe, they will take the Gospel further, changing the life of their hometown, their region, their country, and even the world. In the power of the Holy Spirit, we are influencing their lives today, so that there will be an impact on many more tomorrow.
"And a vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia was standing there, urging him and saying: Come over to Macedonia and help us.” - Acts 16:9
