Nine years ago last month, God blessed Lisa and Jason Young with a new baby, Joshua Young.
He grew up in one of the most loving families I have ever met. He had many brothers and sisters for company, lots of land on which to play, and a church family that adored him. He had a friendly, outgoing personality, and would happily talk to anyone. In many ways, he lived a fuller, richer life than some who live past 90 get to experience.
For reasons we don't yet understand, on Monday, June 24th, God allowed Joshua to have a terrible accident. Though he was rushed to a hospital and given the best care possible, he passed on to be with the Lord in the early morning on Thursday, June 27th.
We are thankful that God allowed his dad the opportunity to discuss the gospel with him recently. Joshua understood that he was a sinner. As we all are sinners. And that his sin separated him from God. He understood he needed a savior, and that Jesus Christ was the perfect substitute to pay for his sins. Isaiah 53:6 says,
"All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all."
Because Joshua professed to have saving faith in Jesus Christ, we who also trust in Him have the hope and comfort of knowing we will see him again.
But for now, the Young family has the unexpected financial burden of hospital and funeral costs, as well as related expenses.
Let's show our love for Joshua and his family by giving to help the Youngs during this time of need.
"Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." Galatians 6:2
