My Aunt, Lorie Pawley, was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of Melanoma. For those who don't know, my Uncle Steve has been serving as the Pastor of Shelby Center Church for many years. He and my Aunt Lorie are faithful servants of the Lord and are some of the kindest people you'll ever meet. They work diligently to serve the people in their town, church, local jail ministry, and anyone in need. Now, it's their turn to be the recipients. Treatment and travel are very costly, and much of the costs incurred will not be covered by their limited insurance. They wouldn't ask for this type of support to be set up, but are extremely thankful for any and all support that can be given during this time.
Below, you'll find a short blurb about what is going on, and how you can help. Prayer is the #1 need, as we truly believe that God is doing the work and will use us along the way. We have already seen His hand in details. Together, with Him, we can make a difference!
"Lorie Pawley has entered into a new chapter of life. We’ll have to call it something like, “Melanoma Loses the Fight”!
Her brother-in-law said it best when hearing the news of Lorie’s recent diagnosis of this aggressive cancer. He said, “We cannot lose Lorie, she’s mission critical!”
True words.
Lorie begins a minimum of 4-6 weeks of testing and treatment at Cancer Center for Healing in California starting August 1st.
While some of her medical expenses may be covered under a co-op, all travel, housing, food, transportation, etc. are out of pocket.
Her care will continue after the initial six weeks and may include periodic travel back out to California as needed.
Any gift you can give will be used for the purposes above and will be greatly appreciated by her and her family.
Together we can do this. Go Lorie! Melanoma’s gonna lose.
Psalm 91:2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; will I trust."
