Thanksgiving is a time within American culture where we remember the cross-cultural bridge between the early settlers of America to those who had lived within the land for centuries. This Thanksgiving Kate, Rachel, and Elizabeth will be building a new cross-cultural bridge to connect their hearts and lives with Syrian refugees living within the Beqaa Valley of Lebanon. They will be partnering with “Walk With Me” which is supported by the US based non-profit 501c3 organization Tying Vines. They will be traveling November 17 - November 24, 2018.
Kate and Elizabeth have been teaching music together within the Central Oklahoma Homeschool Choirs. Both ladies have degrees in music and have taught in many educational and ministry settings in the US and abroad. Their love for music and working with children will surely fuel their souls as they teach music to kids ages 6-13 within the camp. Vocal music, instrumental, rhythm, and movement will be taught during their time on site.
Rachel is a registered nurse and has used her medical skills in Oklahoma, Texas, and Illinois within in hospitals, schools, and a fertility clinic. She is currently a middle school nurse in Richmond, Texas. Rachel will be working within the medical clinic during the morning hours and going into the camp in the afternoons to provide medical attention to those in need.
Your prayer support while they are preparing to go and while serving in Lebanon is vital. Although they have been gifted with specific talents and abilities, their main objectives are to love the Lord God and to reflect His mercy, compassion and love to the Syrian and Lebanese people they encounter.
If you are inclined to give financially— on behalf of the Lebanon Trio— Thank you! The following are breakdowns of the needs we will be incurring between now and November 24th.
