Hello everyone! It has been awhile since we last updated everyone. It has been about 10 weeks since Julie's surgery and she is doing much better. There are definitely more good days than bad but she still has some symptoms. She is able to do more but definitely has to take it slowly. If she does too much she pays for it with really bad headaches at this point. Her ear is still giving her problems and the ENT specialists thinks it is from the muscles that were cut that could attach near the ear. They did a hearing test and checked for fluids or anything that could cause issues. There is some hearing loss but the rest was normal. He suggested some physical therapy and she starts that tomorrow. Please pray for continued healing and for her to get her complete strength and stamina back. She is planning on starting back to work slowly next week as long as there are no issues. She will then plan on building back up her work schedule. So, please pray for her work to build back up and that she gets old clients back as well as new ones. God is good and we are thankful for his provision in this time and for all that everyone has done to support us!
Love you all!
Dan and Julie
The week went really well! Please keep up the prayers!!! Her right ear is still bothersome and the ear specialist we were referred to can't see her until April 3rd. She goes back to the surgeon on the 26th. Thanks so much!
Update from Dan: Hello everyone! It has been a month and 11 days since surgery. Julie has had many ups and downs but she is slowly getting better. We are asking for continued prayer for Julie's healing. She is still experiencing an ear issue, dizziness, fatigue and some pain still. This is expected to be an issue for awhile longer still. She spent last week with her parents in Navasota to get a change of scenery and to avoid doing anything strenuous around the house. She gets worn out just taking a shower still and it is hard on her when she wants to do other stuff around the house. Fixing a meal wears her out. She also want to try and clean around the house. I try to do my part but it is hard at times. I am also not a very good cook either. I am not home 3 nights a week usually because I am trying to make some money in other ways. I am tired and do the best I can to help. She had a better week while at her parent's house. Hopefully she doesn't try to do too much but that is easier said than done. LOL. Please continue to pray for our finances. She is still a ways off from working. We are so very thankful to everyone who has helped us financially!!! Thanks from the bottom of our hearts! Thanks for all the prayers also if that is how you are able to help. We are thankful for those as well!! We are looking forward to life getting back to normal. Our patience and faith are tested at times but we are thankful for a God that loves us so very much and has blessed us in what has been a very difficult time! God is good and we will continue to put our faith in him even though things may not always be as we would like them! Even though...we are blessed. Even though...we are loved. Even though...we are thankful for Jesus and all of you!
Hello everyone! This is Dan. Misty, my sister-in-law, gave me access to update this since I have more info. Julie had her post-op appointment 9 days ago on Tuesday, February 12th. The week that followed was a good week until Saturday. Saturday she started feeling bad again. During the week she had pain levels of about 2 or 3. Then on Saturday her pain levels increased and have been that way since. She has had pain levels of 4-6, dizziness, swelling and tingling sensations on her forehead. The swelling has been around the right eye and forehead. We decided to call the surgeon's office and talk to them. After talking with them, they suggested we go to the ER to make sure there wasn't any spinal fluid leakage. So, off we went last night to the ER and got there around 6 PM. They took some blood work and did a CT scan. The blood work showed no sign of infection and she has had no fever. That is good. The CT scan did show the swelling but they thought it was not too bad. They talked to her neurosurgeon and he said we should be able to go home. They suggested that Julie sleep without being flat on her back which may be causing some of the swelling. We left the ER around 11 PM. We were both hungry and went to McDonalds. It isn't one of Julie's favorite places but one of the few places open. It took forever which added to our stress. We came to find out that only 1 person was working in the whole place. Needless to say we were ready to get home. Julie is still feeling bad to day but maybe slightly better. Please keep praying for her full recovery and for these tumors to never, and I mean ever, to return. Please pray for our finances as Julie still can't work. Thanks so much for all who have helped us in so many ways! We are blessed and so very thankful!! God is good!
Julie had her post-op appointment today and she is doing really good. The staples came out today which is nice so she will have less discomfort. She still has pain from the surgery and most of the time it is down below a 4 at this time. She still struggles to bend down because it causes her to be dizzy. She also has numbness in her head above where they cut her open and she can't move her right eyebrow as of yet. That is a weird issue for her. The doctor says that should happen in time. She has tingles and weird feeling where nerves are trying to work again after being cut. The doctor was really pleased with how she is doing for being 2 weeks out after having her head cut open. Please continue to pray for complete healing and that these tumors never return! Julie and Dan also want to say thank you for all of those who have contributed financially!!! It has been a tremendous blessing and gives them much peace about how they are going to make ends meet while she isn't working and also to pay some of these medical bills to avoid going further into debt. Their normal bills and needs have been met for February. They still need help for at least next month and to help pay the medical bills. Thanks again! They send their love and deep appreciation for all you have done and are praying God's blessing over each of you!
Hello everyone. Dan and Julie would like to thank everyone for their generosity in these hard times. They are so very thankful and blessed! God is good! Thanks for being the hands and feet of Jesus! Julie had the surgery on Monday and came home on Wednesday evening. She was excited to be home and to begin healing at home. There have been times of really bad pain but there have been good moments as well. She gets really tired just getting up to go to the bathroom. This recovery will take awhile and your prayers are still appreciated. Please pray for a quick recovery and for her pain to go down. She has a post-op appointment on February 12th. The tumors that were taken out were tested and are benign. That is good news. Now we are just praying for them to never return. Continue to also pray that their financial needs continue to be met as Dan's salary just covers bills for the most part. They are also very appreciative of all of those who have brought food, cards, flowers and the many text messages! Thanks and God bless!!
