For over 15 years, Jamaica has been a second home to Alex through his many trips, and it quickly became one for me too once I started going with him. Over the years, we’ve built real friendships with several incredible people. People who we’ve stayed in touch with, checked in on, and grown genuinely close to. They’re honestly more like extended family than anything else.

Recently, after Hurricane Melissa hit, we heard from one of our friends that her home had been severely damaged. Windows broke, water poured in, and she did everything she could to save what little she could—including using her own clothes to soak up the flooding. Her daughter hasn’t been able to return to school yet, and they’re still in the process of rebuilding. One of our other friends also had the roof torn off of his house and severe flooding. Most were without power for extended time, and some still are. We’re still waiting to hear the full updates from two of our other friends, but we know that work was disrupted and there’s a long road ahead for all of them.

We immediately wanted to help, but we also knew that the support they need is more than what we can realistically provide on our own. So we created this campaign to gather extra help for the four friends we’ve stayed connected with over the years—people who have shown us more kindness, friendship, and warmth than you can imagine. These aren’t just names on a page or stories on the news. These are the people who’ve served us, protected us, and made us feel at home in a different country… and now they're hurting. We just want to help our friends rebuild their homes, restore their hope, and remind them they’re not alone 🫶🏼

All funds raised will go directly to them to help with whatever they need most right now, including:
