I need help fighting for custody of my daughter

We have never had any legal agreement between me and her mother. She has lived with me and goes to school here were she is doing great. Before she was unhappy and failing school. Now her mother in threatening to take her away and we need to fight this in court but it’s going to cost a few thousand dollars. Any contribution helps. Thank you
