Hello friends.

I started this campaign for my dear sister who just had a baby.

Her name is Rayla and she lives in Brazil.

She has not had an easy life; for as long as I've known her, (eight years) she has been fighting to keep herself afloat. Hunger and uncertainty shroud her, but despite the destitution she has always been full of so much love and light. She has a bright mind and a kind heart.

Last year she lost her job due to physical health problems.. Unsafe at home, she moved in with her partner, William, (who lives with his grandparents), hoping it would be a temporary and safe solution... But things got more difficult when she found out she was pregnant.

When they shared the news of her pregnancy, his grandparents immediately told them they had to leave. A moment they hoped would bring joy, instantly struck despair.

William has been struggling to find work, while his grandparents are denying them access to food. Since they can barely afford to live, let alone buy enough groceries for themselves, they have lost a significant amount of weight.

Rayla has been so uncertain and exhausted. Chronically malnourished, losing her baby and her own life have been a constant fear...

However, by miracle, she survived giving birth to her son on April 10th this year. An emergency C-section was performed.

As Rayla begins this difficult fight, she is facing not only the physical and emotional challenges of motherhood, but also the financial strain that comes with it.

That’s where we can come in.

We’re raising funds to help ease the burden on Rayla so she can raise her son with dignity. Donations will go directly to Rayla to help offset the medical expenses and day to day financial burden of being out of work and having a baby.
