Hello, my name is Misty—and I’m in a desperate situation. My family and I are facing homelessness after receiving a three-day eviction notice. It all started when I got injured back in February, leaving me unable to work for long periods of time. And now, with no income coming in, we find ourselves struggling just to keep our heads above water.

The last year has been tough on us. My daughter and granddaughter have their own set of challenges—she's autistic, and my granddaughter is only three years old. They need stability more than anything right now, but instead, they face the threat of losing everything we’ve worked so hard to rebuild after previous hardships.

I tried making a rent payment recently, hoping it would help ease some stress for us, but our landlord refused it without any explanation. It feels like every time we take one step forward, two steps back—and that weight is crushing.

Adding to all this, my employer filed a workers’ compensation claim on my behalf without even discussing it with me first. I was completely unaware until the notice came through.
