Shayla and I have felt called to adopt since the time we said "I Do". With much prayer and patience we have decided to take the step to Foster to Adopt.
We had started the adoption process in 2015 and then with great joy found out we were pregnant with Eiley and put the process on hold. Now that Eiley is a year and a half we have decided to pursue adoption again. We had considered many options and after seeking out many agencies and finding a $20,000 - $30,000 price tag, we knew that the Lord had a greater heart to find these children homes and is less concerned about money and more concerned about reaching out. We had lots of discussions with many people and decided fostering to adopt was something we felt the Lord had called us to. We have a heart for children and know that He is going to bring us the right child at the right time. At this time we are willing to recieve a child that would be younger than Eiley, hopefully less than 6 months, but are also not wanting to smother the fathers plan for our lives.
With this decision comes cost. We have made the decision to go through a private agency that works alongside CPS for foster placements because this gives us a more Christian environment and a lot of support; however, this also keeps us from receiving State funding.
There are a few things we need to finalize the paperwork process and one of those things is a home study. This comes at a $700 cost to us up front.
We also want to make sure we have everything in place for the child if we get a call in the middle of the night saying "we have a baby for you".
We currently are looking for a gender neutral bassinet and crib, and are wanting to have a small fund set aside for diapers, clothing, etc for the child.
We cannot wait for the Lord to add to our arrows and bring us a child to have a forever home. We are so thankful for all your support and kindness, and know that investing in us in investing in the life of a child.
