Cancer nearly killed me in 2018.

I knocked on Heaven’s door and was sent back. By the Grace of God I have survived this long and was blessed to see my granddaughter grow to an age where she will remember me.

Many treatments and lesser surgeries over the past eight years that kept the cancer at bay have taken a toll and left me both disabled and financially ruined. I was forced to retire and lost my good health insurance plan.

The cancer has returned hard and the only option that may prolong my life now is a total Laryngectomy. This is a major life altering surgery that will remove my vocal cords / larnyx and leave me dependent on medical supplies and equipment for the rest of my days.

I spent much of my life trying to be of service to others, I am a retired Texas Peace Officer, Cold War veteran, imperfect Christian and family man. I am in no way special, just a man trying to stay alive for my family.

I have considered everyday a bonus and give thanks for each day I’ve had. I do not fear death but do fear being debilitated and a burden on my family.

Your contribution will be used to offset some of the hospital expenses and to purchase the medical equipment I will need to survive and care for myself. These include a medical suction machine, speaking device, tubes, filters and adhesives that must be changed daily, etc. 

 It is hard for me to ask for help when so many are struggling but I’m overwhelmed and honestly a bit too scared to be proud.
