Help Southside Caring Hearts Respond to the Darby House Senior Apartments Fire

Early this morning, a devastating three-alarm fire at the Darby House Senior Apartments turned the lives of many elderly residents upside down. In just a few moments, seniors who have spent years building their lives lost many of the things they depend on every day. Some escaped with only the clothes they were wearing.

Southside Caring Hearts is mobilizing an emergency response to make sure these seniors are not forgotten. Our volunteers are working to provide immediate relief and essential supplies while residents begin the difficult process of recovering from this tragedy.

Your donation will help us purchase and distribute:

- Hygiene kits with soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, and other personal care items

- New clothing, underwear, socks, and comfortable shoes

- Blankets, pillows, towels, and bedding

- Bottled water, sports drinks, and ready-to-eat meals

- Adult incontinence supplies and other personal necessities

- Phone chargers, prepaid phones when needed, and other emergency essentials

- Transportation assistance to medical appointments, pharmacies, shelters, and temporary housing

- Emergency gift cards so residents can purchase critical personal items

- Other urgent needs that arise during recovery

Many of these seniors live on fixed incomes, making it nearly impossible to replace everything they have lost. Every dollar donated helps restore comfort, dignity, and hope during one of the most difficult moments of their lives.
