My friends in Montellano, Puerto Plata—a husband, wife, and their three children—are facing unimaginable hardship after devastating flooding swept through their community. I have known this family for over 20 years, and they have always welcomed us with open arms whenever we visit the Dominican Republic. Their warmth and generosity have made every visit special, and they have become like family to us. 

Recently, the flooding destroyed everything they owned. Their home was severely damaged, and they lost all their belongings. Right now, they are sleeping on cardboard boxes, struggling to find comfort and safety for their children. It breaks my heart to see them in this situation after all the kindness they have shown us over the years. 

The funds raised will go directly toward providing them with essential clothing, rebuilding their home, and purchasing new mattresses so they can sleep safely and comfortably again.
