My name is Lexi, and I am a mother of three beautiful children ages 5, 3, and 15 months old. Four months ago, I lost my job, and despite doing everything I can to find employment, I have had no luck securing another position.

Since losing my job, I have submitted countless applications, made phone calls, walked into businesses, attended interviews, and even searched for work-from-home opportunities. I am currently doing DoorDash to earn what I can, but unfortunately, it is not enough to cover our basic living expenses.

At the same time, I am working toward a better future for my family by attending college for nursing. My goal is to build a stable career so I can provide for my children and break this cycle of financial hardship. Right now, however, I am struggling just to keep us afloat.

I am currently over $800 behind on childcare payments. Childcare is essential because without it, I cannot continue searching for work, accept a job when one becomes available, or attend my nursing classes. I do receive childcare assistance, but I am only approved for part-time coverage and must still pay the remaining balance myself.

On top of that, my car is at risk of being repossessed, we are behind on rent, and we are facing the possibility of losing our apartment. Without a vehicle, I will have even fewer opportunities to work, attend school, and care for my children.

What makes this situation even harder is that I do not have family nearby who can help. I lost my mother two years ago, and I do not have grandparents, aunts, or uncles who are able to assist with childcare or provide financial support. I am doing my best to navigate this on my own while raising three young children.

I never imagined I would be in a position where I needed to ask for help, but today I am reaching out because I have exhausted every option I know. Any donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward rent, childcare, transportation, and keeping my family safe and housed while I continue searching for employment and pursuing my nursing degree.
