Most people spend their teens thinking about school and friends. Since the age of 15, I have been thinking about survival. For nearly 40 years, I have fought a relentless battle against kidney disease, and today, that fight has become harder than ever. Now 53, I am facing a 'perfect storm' of health crises. Along with Stage 3 kidney failure, I am managing cardiovascular issues and diabetes. These aren't just medical terms; they are daily hurdles that have left me 100% disabled and unable to maintain the life I once knew. While I am a fighter, the financial burden of four decades of illness has reached a breaking point, mentally, physically, and financially. I am raising funds to help cover basic cost-of-living support, maintaining transportation costs to frequent specialist appointments. After 38 years of fighting, I shouldn't have to fight for basic necessities.
