My name is Crystal, and I’m fighting to keep my home. My body has been through more than I ever imagined—major surgeries, chronic illness, and now bone marrow tumors that have taken away my ability to work. I’m surviving on just $900 a month, and no matter how hard I try, I’m falling further behind. I’m scared every day that I’ll lose everything I’ve worked so hard to hold onto.

There are days when it feels like I’m walking through the deepest valley, trying to hold on to faith even when the world around me feels like it’s collapsing. My health has taken my strength, my independence, and my stability. But I’m still here, still praying, still believing that God will send help when I need it most.

This home is more than a place to sleep. It’s where my momma sits with me when I’m hurting. It’s where my son lays his head when he visits. It’s the only space where I feel safe while my body fights battles I never asked for. The thought of losing it—of the lights going out or an eviction notice on the door—brings a fear I can barely put into words. I’m doing everything I can, but $900 a month simply isn’t enough to keep us afloat.
