Every weekend, something beautiful happens in our tight-knit neighborhood of children who face hardship. They gather to share a meal, laugh together, learn about values from the Bible—it’s their safe haven where they find comfort amidst life’s challenges.

But there’s more at stake than just physical hunger; these kids are hungry for connection and support too. And that’s where we come in. We started this weekly gathering out of sheer necessity, driven by our own experiences with poverty and the desire to offer something positive amid hardship. Each week, as I see their faces light up over a meal or hear them recite verses from memory, it reaffirms why we do what we do—and just how much these moments mean to us all.

Yet sustaining this weekly gathering isn’t easy. It costs money for food, utensils, transportation, and even the venue itself. Each week, those little expenses add up quickly! And yet, every penny counts when it comes to keeping smiles on these kids' faces—and hearts full of hope.
