A 2-Year Safety Net for My Parents

Hi everyone, my name is Key.

I’m 32 years old, working in a warehouse in a new city, and I’m the only child to two incredible parents who are now in their mid-60s. I’m reaching out today because my family hit a long season of hardship, and I need help creating a safety net for my mom and dad over the next two years.

Our Story

Like so many families, our world flipped upside down during COVID. My parents exhausted all of their savings just to keep us afloat. When the money ran out, they had no choice but to sell off almost everything they owned—their household furniture, basic appliances, and even their car—just to buy groceries and cover day-to-day survival.

At the time, I was struggling to find steady work and couldn't cushion the blow. Today, I’m grateful to have a full-time job. However, it requires physically demanding warehouse labor away from home, and my income is currently stretched thin covering my basic living expenses, rent, and personal debts from that period of unemployment.

My parents are getting older, living in an almost empty house without basic comforts or reliable transportation. I cannot bear to see them suffer through this while I work toward financial stability.

Where Your Support Goes

The goal of this fundraiser is to bridge the gap for the next 2 years. Once my debts are fully paid off, my salary will be enough to support both myself and my parents. Until then, every dollar raised will directly cover:

Medical Care & Treatments: Ongoing healthcare and medications as they age into their mid-60s.

Home Repairs & Basic Furnishings: Fixing structural issues and replacing a few essential household items so they can live comfortably and safely.

Mobility: Purchasing a reliable secondhand scooter so they can run errands and get around town after having to sell their car.

Daily Living Needs: Basic groceries, monthly utilities, and food security.

A Note of Gratitude

Doing physical labor every day far from home while worrying about my parents living in an empty house has been the hardest challenge of my life. I’m working as hard as I can to secure our future, but right now, I just need a little help to protect theirs.

Whether you can donate $1, share this campaign with your network, or simply leave a kind message, it means the world to my family and me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me take care of the people who gave up everything for me.

Ps : I'm sorry for using AI to help me write the story, for english is not my main language and grammar is hard and I'm afraid I might write it all wrong.
