CALL FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

My name is Emmanuel Oketona (Matric Number: 22CA031622), I am a 300 Level Student of Architecture at Covenant University and I am humbly soliciting for Financial Assistance to enable me continue my education at the university after I had my scholarship unfortunately withdrawn in May, 2024. I resumed for my 1st year in September, 2022 under the sponsorship of the David Oyedepo Foundation Scholarship awarded on my excellent performances in my WAEC, JAMB and Secondary School Results. This Scholarship was the only source of financial help my family and I had to afford to study at an Institution as prestigious as Covenant University. However, the condition for the renewal of the scholarship was that I maintained a 4.5 First Class CGPA for the duration of my study and this requirement was to be assessed on a semester basis. The degree programmes that were available for scholarship at that time were very limited, and due to this, I had to settle for Architecture as the most viable option. Unfortunately, Architecture did not turn out to be my area of strength and despite the relentless efforts and hard work I put into it, I continued to struggle academically from the first semester of my first year. I had a CGPA of 4.16 by the end of my first year, and because the CGPA did not meet the 4.5 benchmark, my scholarship was put on probation for my 2nd Year. The foundation therefore paid only 70% of the school fees for my 2nd year with the clause that my CGPA mandatorily meets the 4.5 benchmark after the 1st Semester of my 2nd Year or they withdraw the scholarship. Despite my earnest efforts to meet this requirement, I continued to encounter major academic difficulties that negatively affected my grades and resulted in a further decline in my CGPA with the release of my results for 1st semester, Year 2. Unfortunately, my scholarship was eventually completely terminated in May, 2024. The withdrawal of my scholarship left my family and I completely stranded on paying the outstanding 30% school fees balance to complete my 2nd year. After a lot of struggle and financial appeals made, we were eventually able to complete the outstanding school fees balance for my 2nd year. As the currently situation is, I have 2 years left to complete my university education and my family are sincerely incapable of affording my school fees for my 3rd and 4th year due to our very humble financial background. We are therefore in dire need of financial assistance as this is our only hope to help me continue my education and not eventually have to drop out of school as a result of not being able to pay my school fees. The total school fees for the 3rd Year (300L) of my degree program is of the sum of N1,600,000 (One Million, Six Hundred Thousand Naira Only) which is due by September, 2024, also the school fees for my 4th Year (Final) is the sum of N1,800,000 (One Million, Eight Hundred Thousand Naira Only) and is due in September,2025. We would like to humbly solicit your assistance in any capacity as your financial contribution will be of great value and will go a long way to seeing that my school fees for this 3rd year is completed as well as towards my 4th Year (Final).
