"This is my commandment: love one another as I love you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends." John 15: 12-13
Our friend, Rev. Dennis D.
Arechiga, came to us July 1, 2010, blessing us as our
shepherd, Priest, and Pastor. Now, we look back,
with gratitude and to say,
"Thank you, friend".
Now, please know this is on
the “hush hush” we want to try and surprise Fr. Dennis with this gift. (We
fear that if he finds out about our idea, he might quash our efforts. So, let’s
keep this a secret!)
UPDATE: 5/14/22: We HIT OUR GOAL! PRAISE BE TO GOD! People have asked how can they contribute if the goal is met. So, we have decided to LEAVE THIS CAMPAIGN OPEN to accept donations above and beyond the $45,000.00 goal, and those additional funds will be contributed by "Friends of Fr., Dennis" and in his Honor to St. Matthew Catholic Church to help cover the costs of the Going Away Party.
UPDATE: 5/13/22 - Please note: We have slightly increased the goal from $42,500 to $45,000 as we have located a particualr vehicle which (our investigation tells us) will be to his liking.
of San Antonio understandably does not allow church funds to be used for gifts
for Priests. Donations to our church cannot be used to buy gifts for priests.
Parish staff also can’t solicit funds in fund-raising gifts for our priests. We
understand and want to abide by this guidance. Thus, “Friends of Father
Dennis” has been organized to spread the word and invite you to participate
in this cause. Since donations will not go to a church or another
registered charitable organization, your gift is not
tax-deductible; but is a gift in the truest sense.
this invitation forward to others who might want to participate. We ask that all donations be made by May
20, 2022, so we can present Fr. Dennis with the “keys” to our gift
at the Going Away Party, Friday, June 3, 2022, 5:30 p.m., at
the St. Matthew Athletic Center.
Thank you for
your prayerful consideration of a monetary gift for Fr.
Dennis. If questions, please contact:
