Hello! My name is Megan Dazey and I live in a small town in South Carolina. A town so small, we don’t even have a red light! I have recently decided to answer the call to go into ministry full time, and decided to go to Hillsong College in Australia to learn how to do ministry and serve. I had the amazing opportunity in the fall of 2013 to study abroad in Sydney, Australia for three months. When I was there, I was blessed with the chance to attend the city campus of Hillsong Church. While there I fell in love with the worship and heart of the church. Every service I would walk in and see the “Welcome Home” sign, and every time I felt a sense of belonging, which isn’t an easy thing for me to feel like I belong somewhere. I truly believe I grew closer to God in during those three months. I went from being a timid worshiper, to joining the other young people jumping up and down and praising God! I felt so excited to go every service to just worship and praise God! The last Sunday night at the church, they had Revival Nights, and I came in expecting God to move, and He didn’t disappoint! God showed up and touched my life in a way that I had never experienced before. The Pastor started talking about unforgiveness and immediately thought of my father. I started to sob because I thought I had forgiven him. I felt a mighty touch from God, and then the Pastor prayed for those people. When he prayed, I felt a huge weight lifted from my shoulders that I hadn’t realized I had been carrying for 13+ years! I believe God provided for me financially to go to Australila for that encounter with Him.
I truly believe that God is calling me back to Australia to study at Hillsong College. At the college, I will be able to study leadership skills to help me in my ministry, as well as the Biblical foundation. I long to get closer to God and have the strong desire to bring others to Christ. I aspire to show people the love of Christ and how great God is. I desire to devote my life to Christ, which is why I’m getting into ministry full time. Hillsong College currently offers no financial aid, nor any scholarships, so everything, including tuition, must come out of pocket. Before I go, I need to have the first semester tuition, as well as money for the plane ticket, overseas health coverage, visa, and initial living expenses (until I can find a part time job). I have no doubt in my mind that God will provide (Philippians 4:19)! I have put my trust in Him during this season. If you can donate, that would be amazing. I could also use sponsorships while I’m there for living expenses (rent, utilities, phone service, internet, transportation, food) if that’s where the Spirit is leading you. As always, prayers are greatly appreciated! Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story! God bless!
