#Fight Like Jeff

It was a sunny day, just like any other, when our world turned upside down.

Jeff was out for a morning walk, I was at my clogging class, and we were going to meet up at Safeway. My phone rang several times and, as the music came to an end, I recognized Jeff’s ringtone... Metallica... “Give me fuel, give me fire.”

When I answered, something felt off. Something was not right.

I picked him up and we went straight to the emergency room. After a few tests, the doctor gently broke the news that his left lung had collapsed. ? He was transferred to another hospital with a pulmonologist on staff. More tests followed, and a few days later, the hammer dropped: adenocarcinoma of the left lung.

After even more tests, we learned it had spread to his left humerus, his L3 vertebrae, and one lymph node.

Jeff has always been a rock — strong in spirit, generous with his time, hardworking, and always there for family and friends. That is just who he is. He has always been the man people could count on.

Now he is facing the fight of his life.

Jeff has chosen to pursue treatment through Envita along with supportive therapies because standard oncology offered very limited options for his specific cancer. We are grateful to be fighting with hope, but this path also comes with many out-of-pocket expenses that insurance does not cover.

We are raising money to help with:

1. Specialized treatments not covered by insurance
2. Travel back and forth for appointments and treatment
3. Hotel and condo stays when treatments begin very early in the morning
4. Gas, parking, meals, and day-to-day expenses during treatment days
5. Prescriptions, supplements, medical supplies, and supportive therapies
6. And the many unexpected expenses that come with cancer care

The costs are overwhelming, and the last thing we want is for financial stress to stand in the way of Jeff getting the best care possible.

I stand by my man not just as his wife, but as his partner in this fight. He would do anything for the people he loves.

Now it is our turn to rally around him.
