Is it real?
Last fall, I had a friend give me a word from the Father during one of our small groups. He said,
"Shelbie, you are my sunshine. You shine in whatever situation you are in - whether it is at work or walking into a coffee shop. And who you are is enough. You are genuine. Do not fear of taking the next step. Take that leap of faith."
Since that night, I have had a message on my letterboard at home that read, "You are my sunshine. Take that leap of faith," to remember God's plan for me. At this time, I was in a season of growth. I was learning who I am as a daughter of God and where he is calling me to be. I was anxious to make a move so that God could move in me. Thankfully, He calmed my desires and I learned to find peace in the waiting and rest in His presence.
When Radiant Church announced that they will be traveling to Israel, my heart exploded with excitement. I immediately thought, THIS is the leap. THIS is what I need to do! I quieted my excitement for the months that followed and prayed to be sure of my motives for going. I wanted to be sure that this decision was made not just out of excitement, but instead, out of a desire to grow my relationship with the Father. As I sat there in the informational meeting, I was overwhelmed with emotion. My heart wanted more. I felt such strong confirmation and knew that this is where I need to be.
2017 was a year of transformation and redemption. I gave my life to Christ that January and ended the year with my water baptism. I decided in the beginning of 2018, that this would be the year that I would find my identity in Christ. This year, I will be walking the same land Jesus walked. I will experience the Holy Land and take a leap of faith to further my faith.
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."
I am confident that God will make a way for this trip to happen. I have had several friends ask about how to give and that is the purpose of this page. The trip costs just over $4,000. We will be staying 10 days and traveling all throughout Israel, gaining a deeper insight of who Jesus is and his love for us. Your donation to this means the world to me, but more importantly, I ask for prayers throughout the fundraising process and this journey. I am so grateful for this opportunity and overjoyed to share my love for Jesus from a place of personal experience.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and have a blessed day!
