Blessings family and friends!!!

We are so incredibly excited to launch our fifth Epic Christian Academy 8th Grade Mission Trip!! This serves as a rite of passage for our 8th grade students as they end their ECA journey and prepare for High School! Through this experience, 8th graders are invited into learning about and preparing themselves to go to places that are going to require courage, resilience, faith, sacrifice, and love. Year after year our teens come back more inspired, more grateful for what they have, and with increased compassion for people. Jesus said to ,"Go into all the world...." Why not challenge our youth to Go and fulfill His great commission now with the time and talents they have been given?!!

In the past our ECA teams have gone to Mescalero Apache, New Mexico, Quebec, and the Jungles of Guatemala. Each experience has been unique and life changing!

This year our team will be going to The Hopi Reservation in northeastern Arizona! The Hopi have inhabited this land since the 12th century. Nestled in the heart of the Navajo Tribe, the Hopi Reservation is on 1.5 million acres of beautiful flat high painted desert terrain. Isolated from major U.S. cities, it almost feels like you have entered into a whole new country when driving on to the Reservation. They have held on to a large part of their culture and tradition, which is huge feat as much has been lost over the years for many First Nations people. Hopi are known as the "People of Peace." They are some of the kindest most hospitable people. They do, however, have their fair share of challenges due to being so isolated: Poverty, unemployment, limited educational opportunities, substance abuse, and addictions to name a few. Our hope is to show that even though they are isolated they are not forgotten.

This year our team is a Father Son team!!! Not only will they serve together but also experience moments to build the Father Son bond. We are praying that so many rich memories are made for these dads and sons. We are also praying that all on the team will grow in faith and character. Finally, we are praying that God would use us to bless the Hopi in really timely ways, that friendships are forged and lives are impacted. We will be serving through daily work projects, cooking meals, small group Bible studies, Children's ministry, and just sharing stories with one another. We are making ourselves available to serve in whatever capacity we can!
