This campaign is set up to raise funds for Davin Torjesen who has been facing extreme medical and financial challenges. Those of you who have the privilege of knowing him personally know that he is one of the kindest, most giving individuals there is. He is an amazing father of two gorgeous girls (7 and 3) and husband to his beautiful wife Rainy. 

Over the past two years Davin has been experiencing progressive weakening of his muscles. He has lost most of the function in his left arm and now is experiencing weakness in his legs, making walking challenging. A solid diagnosis has been illusive, but the most likely one is MMN (Multifocal Motor Neuropothy). On top of this, on March 16th Davin suffered a fall resulting in his weakest leg breaking in at least three places. Davin and Rainy live and work in China, a world away from their family and support group. In January of 2023 they spent over a month in Thailand undergoing countless medical tests to get to try to get some answers. Medical expenses are adding up and travel costs are high.

The future is seeming even more unknown now that Davin has broken his leg. Will it require a return to the USA? Will they need to purchase an electric wheelchair so he can still get to and navigate around the International School that he works at?

Thank you! So many of you have responded out of your love with comments, prayers and gifts toward the expenses that are a part of this.

Davin has had surgery and the metal plates repairing the 10 breaks in his lower right leg have given a stability he didn't have before the fall. While he's hospitalized, he is being given IVs once a day for five days of immunoglobulin for his MMN. The way he responds to that may indicate whether or not that's a correct diagnosis. We anticipate he can go home when that treatment is over. We'll keep you posted on his progress and plans. Again, thank you!

Thank you all for your prayers and support! We just wanted to give a quick medical update. Davin's surgery, which was supposed to take 3 hours, ended up taking over 7. The reason is that when Davin fell, he must have twisted in such a way that both bones in the lower leg (tibia and fibula) each sustained 5 breaks - 10 breaks in his lower right leg! There are now metal plates and the doctor says his leg is more stable now than before the fall. He also had soft tissue damage. We still don't know when he'll get to go home and what recovery time looks like. There has been talk of giving him the IV immunoglobulin treatment for the MMN diagnosis while he's in the hospital. 

Sandy and Finn, Denise and Adam are working on connecting with a visa office in Chicago, to see if we can get someone to China to be with Davin and Rainy. Please pray the door opens and that it will be clear who should go.
